Guide
How to find trends that fit your brand
Most trend lists show what everyone is talking about. The trends worth your time are the few that are still rising, fit what your brand is about, and are already working for accounts like yours. Here is how to find them in five steps, by hand or in Chockstone Labs.
Updated October 30, 2026.
1. Look for rising, not peaking
Tap Rising now to see only what’s still climbing. By hand, compare the last two days with the week before. A tag used 30 times today after 2 a day last week is rising; one used the same amount all week is peaking; one dropping by half is fading. In Chockstone Labs every trend carries that sentence, for example “Up 240% on the last two days against the week before”.
2. Check that it fits
A trend fits when it touches what the brand is about, a hashtag that already beat your usual, or a tag your competitors use. Chockstone Labs ranks trends by exactly that and says why: “#sourdough already beat your usual views”.
3. Watch what’s taking off for accounts like yours
The strongest signal is a post from an account in your niche doing twice its usual. Add two or three competitors and Chockstone Labs lists their posts from the last two weeks that did at least twice their usual, with the format and length to copy.
4. Skip what you can’t stand behind
Never ride a trend about a death, a disaster or someone’s loss. Chockstone Labs flags those and tells your assistant not to draft them.
5. Post within two days, in your own voice
Tap Draft a post on a trend and the composer opens with its hashtag in. Write it the way your brand sounds, send it for approval, and schedule it into your next free slot.
Where the trends come from
Chockstone Labs reads Google’s searches rising today in your country and each network’s own public trending list every few hours: Mastodon’s trending tags and links, YouTube’s popular chart and other open networks, and keeps each trend’s history. Instagram and TikTok publish no trend list for apps, so for those we use what the accounts you watch are posting, and Instagram hashtag look-ups through your connected account. Questions
How early should you post on a trend?
While it is rising, not peaking: in the first day or two after it starts climbing. Once a trend is fading, most people have already seen it.
Should a brand post about every trend?
No. Post on trends that fit what the brand is about, and never on one about a death, a disaster or someone’s loss.
How do I ask my AI assistant for trends?
Connect Chockstone Labs to Claude or ChatGPT and ask “What’s trending that fits us?”. Your assistant reads trends_get and drafts the post with trend_draft, then post_create, for you to approve.
