Best of 2027
The best social media trend tools of 2027
A trend is worth something only if it fits your brand and you post before it peaks. We looked at seven tools on four questions: how many networks they cover, whether they show where a trend came from and when, whether they say if it fits you, and whether they get you from trend to published post.
Checked October 30, 2026, from each tool’s own pages and App Store listings. Prices in US dollars, before tax.
1. Chockstone Labs: best for brands on several networks
Chockstone Labs reads Google’s searches rising today in your country and each network’s own public trending list every few hours (Mastodon, YouTube’s popular chart and other open networks) and keeps each trend’s history, so rising, peaking and fading come from the numbers. Every trend names its source, its country and when it was checked, and says how big it already is, so a small account can skip what’s crowded. Chockstone Labs ranks trends by fit to each of your brands, from your brand voice, the hashtags that already beat your usual and the tags your competitors use, and it shows posts taking off among the accounts you watch on every network you connect. One tap drafts the post; then approval, scheduling and publishing happen in the same place. Your AI assistant can ask for trends over MCP. Trends come with every plan, free included.
2. Reel Trends: best for Instagram sounds
An iPhone app with trending Instagram Reels sounds and trends by location, category and favorite creators, an AI rise-or-fade prediction, and tools for hooks, captions and hashtags. Free with in-app purchases from $2.99 a week. Reel Trends covers Instagram only and doesn’t post for you. Chockstone Labs vs Reel Trends.
3. TrendTok: best for TikTok sounds
The TikTok counterpart: trending sounds and hashtags, rising or falling predictions and a commercial-use sound filter for businesses. Free with in-app purchases from $2.99 a week. TikTok only, and no posting.
4. Tokchart: best TikTok charts
Daily and monthly charts of TikTok audio and fast-growing hashtags, with the real songs behind “original sounds”. Pro is $14.99 a month; country charts and Instagram audio are on Business at $59 a month.
5. TikTok Creative Center: best free TikTok source
TikTok’s own trend pages: hashtags, songs, creators and videos by region and industry, with trend lines. Free to browse, made for advertisers, TikTok only.
6. Pinterest Trends: best for planning seasons ahead
Up to two years of Pinterest search trends by region, free with a business account. Great for seasonal content; it covers Pinterest only.
7. HeyOrca Trends Library: best hand-picked list
A weekly, human-picked list of Instagram and TikTok trends with a note on how a brand could recreate each. A selection is free; the archive needs a sign-up.
How we picked
We scored each tool on network coverage, source and freshness, fit to one brand, and the path from trend to post. In our October 2026 scoring, Chockstone Labs was the only one of these tools to do all four. The sound apps win on audio, which no tool can read through Instagram’s official tools for apps.
Questions
What is the best app to find social media trends?
For a brand on several networks, Chockstone Labs: it shows what’s rising with its source and check time, ranks it by fit to your brand, and turns it into a scheduled post, on every plan including free. For Instagram sounds alone, Reel Trends.
Is there a free trend tool?
Yes. Chockstone Labs Starter is free with trends included. TikTok Creative Center and Pinterest Trends are free but cover one network each.
Can any tool read Instagram’s trending audio?
Not through Instagram’s official tools for apps: Meta offers hashtag search and business discovery, but no trending audio endpoint. Apps that list trending sounds gather them their own way, and Instagram’s own app shows rising audio in the Reels audio picker.
