Guide
How to find trending Reels audio
Trending audio is the reason most people open a trend app. Instagram shows it inside its own app, but gives other apps no way to read the list or attach the sound. Here is where to find it, and how to plan the rest of the post so it goes out on time.
Updated October 30, 2026.
Find it in Instagram
- Open Reels and tap the audio name on a Reel you like: the sound’s page shows how many Reels use it.
- In the Reels editor’s audio picker, sounds with an upward arrow are rising.
- On a professional account, look for the trending audio list in the Professional Dashboard.
Pick a sound that’s rising with a few thousand Reels, not one with millions: you’re early enough to be seen.
Why no scheduler reads it
Meta’s tools for apps cover hashtag search and other accounts’ public posts, not trending audio, and they publish Reels without licensed music. Apps that list trending sounds gather them their own way. We only use the official, documented routes, so Chockstone Labs doesn’t list Instagram sounds.
Plan the post in Chockstone Labs
- Find the idea in Insights › Trends: what’s rising that fits your brand, and posts taking off among the accounts you watch.
- Draft the Reel with your video and caption, and send it for approval like any other post.
- Tick I’ll post it myself for Instagram. At its time you get a “Time to post” reminder with the video and caption.
- Post it in Instagram with the trending sound, then mark it posted with its link so insights follow it.
Questions
Where does Instagram show trending audio?
In Instagram’s own app: rising sounds carry an upward arrow in the Reels audio picker, and guides describe a trending audio list in the Professional Dashboard. Check the app, since Instagram moves it.
Can a scheduler post a Reel with trending audio?
Not through Instagram’s publishing tools for apps, which can’t attach licensed music. Chockstone Labs sends a “Time to post” reminder with your video and caption, you add the sound in Instagram, and the post is tracked afterwards.
Is it safe to use trending audio on a business account?
Business accounts are often limited to Instagram’s commercial sound library. Use sounds marked as available to you, or original audio.
